UAE sets up the first of its kind Artificial Intelligence University
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has set up the world’s first graduate university dedicated to the study of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Abu Dhabi. The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) will offer specialised degree programmes in AI to local and international students. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, who is currently the Minister of State in UAE, has been appointed as the Chair of MBZUAI Board of Trustees.
The programmes have been designed with the aim of supporting scientific research and development of AI and providing ample opportunities to AI enthusiasts to innovate and build AI-based solutions. The university offers MScs and PhDs in Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing. To make the programmes more appealing and financially viable for students from around the world, the university has agreed to offer a full-time scholarship to them, including tuition fees, monthly stipend and much more.
