No friction with your pupils: No matter what classroom management strategy or method you follow, make sure that it does not cause any friction between you and your pupils. Many teachers follow methods like yelling, punishing, scolding, lecturing, etc., to manage their students. All these methods; however, lead to only animosity and resentment among students, thereby polluting the classroom environment. Say no to all such traditional classroom management methods, instead take some positive steps to improve your students’ behavior and create a learning environment.
Strike a bond with your students: Time and again, it has been proved that a calm and friendly teacher gains success not only in managing his/her class better but also in maintaining a good rapport with students. Always exude a friendly demeanor in the class. If you have a good rapport with your students, it will be easy for you to influence them and make them listen to you. Further, your students will never feel hesitant about approaching you at the time of need.
Generate your students’ interest in the class: A teacher’s success in managing the class very much lies in the fact that whether all students look forward to the class or not. Unless you generate your students’ interest in the subject, all your classroom management efforts will come to naught. Alternatively, if your students are eager for the class, it will automatically pave the way for you to manage their behavior.
Make your classroom management plan realistic: Last but not the least; make your classroom management plan as much realistic as possible and strictly adhere to it. It will save your time, protect your relationships and make things easy for you to manage in the classroom.
