Recipients of Global Education Ideas Award announced
Global Education Network Europe (GENE) recently announced the winners of this year’s Global Education Ideas Award. They are as follows:
- The Climate Living Lab, Artevelde University of Applied Sciences, Belgium
- One World Citizen, France
- HN Global Academy – Global Education for Journalists with Journalists, Hospodárske Noviny, Slovakia
GENE is the European network of ministries, agencies and other national bodies responsible for support, funding and policy-making in the field of global education. It currently has a membership of 25 countries.
GENE’s work encompasses different facets of global education, such as development education, human rights education, education for sustainability, education for peace and conflict prevention and intercultural education. By bringing together 40 policy-developing bodies belonging to its member countries, GENE intends to pursue a common European agenda for global education as well as fund research projects.
The awards were instituted in 2017 to acknowledge the importance of global education initiatives taken across European countries.
