Government to merge Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan
The Government of India has decided to merge two of its similar education schemes – Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).
The Schemes
Both of the schemes have the aim of universalising education in the country.
At present, SSA is applicable for class 1 to 8 and RMSA for classes 9 and 10.
The government hopes to improve the reach of school-level education through the merger.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development is making the plans for combining the schemes.
