Keep your students motivated during the last hour of school
It is a daunting task for every teacher to keep his/her students motivated during the last hour of the school. This is the time when most of the students’ mind is occupied with various thoughts and therefore, they fail to focus their attention on the study.
However, it is not an uphill task for a teacher to keep students motivated to learn even during the last hour of the school. The following steps show how it is possible for a teacher to finish the day’s learning on a positive, most importantly, on a bright note.
Give them a breathing space just before the class starts
They have been sitting throughout the day. Therefore, it is quite natural for them to get all scattered mentally. So, give them a 10-minute break before you start the class. You can also have them play a simple word game for a few minutes so that you can refresh their mind and motivate them back to the study.
Stick to the routine
Never take the last class for granted. Instead, stick to the routine in order to ensure that you are meeting the teaching/learning goals. However, you can add a bit of energy/excitement to the class by conducting various activities on the lesson you are teaching.
Lots of enthusiasm, maintain eye contact and show appropriate body language
No doubt, your teaching style and passion can easily motivate your students to the study even during the last hour of school. Maintain appropriate body language and make eye contact with all of your students.
