HSBC Launches the Second Flagship Programme for Social Innovators
HSBC recently launched the second edition of Tattawar, which is a welcome step for students from the UAE, Egypt, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Algeria. Part of the flagship skills programme, Tattawar: Building Tomorrow’s Minds, is an interactive and online face-to-face programme to bring students aged between 15 and 18, parents, and the business community on a single platform to deliberate over and initiate discussions on one of the three Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations General Assembly:
- Climate action
- Human health and well-being
- Clean water and sanitation
Students will be given various learning resources in the course of developing innovative ideas. These resources will also help them develop their skills in innovative design thinking, financial literacy, critical thinking and entrepreneurship.
The most promising students will get a chance to be part of in-country workshops and build their prototypes. A panel of judges will then select 20 students for the final round to be held in Muscat, Oman in April 2020. These shortlisted students will be given extensive coaching by industry experts to develop their prototypes with more perfection.
The top three students’ prototypes will be showcased at the HSBC-sponsored UK Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020. Moreover, crowd-funding assistance from Potential.com and cash prizes will be given in appreciation of their work.
