Activity-based learning a necessity
Experts often worry that students may attend school, but do not absorb knowledge. Children go to school, but do the students learn? It is vital for students to retain knowledge and understand concepts. A recent survey by NCERT says that students in India absorbed only 40 to 50 per cent of what is taught in the classroom. Although teachers are doing an excellent job, it is also vital to empower teachers. One way is to bring in a lot of activities to create an activity-based learning atmosphere, to make it interesting and engrossing for the student. Tools like virtual labs and interactive modules lend that important element to classroom teaching. They not only make the teaching-learning process enriching, but also help retain the interest of students.
