Technology can be used to make Maths interesting
Use of technology for teaching Mathematics should be encouraged in schools. IT can be used as an education tool to help students gain confidence. Teachers should not limit their learning but trigger their thoughts towards innovation to motivate children to love Maths as a subject. A student cannot learn Maths in a classroom with textbooks. Students must be encouraged to think beyond classrooms. Children must think beyond the boundaries of the classroom. IT will be interesting for the present generation of students as they are net savvy. For this, teachers must also be technologically sound.
Experimentation should be made an integral part of any child’s mathematical experience by making use of easily available software and hardware. Handheld technology in the form of graphics calculators have the power to enhance visualisation, conceptualisation and make the subject accessible to all students.
