Joint initiative by Jharkhand government and Sampark Foundation to improve students Maths and English knowledge
In an appreciable move to boost students’ knowledge of Maths and English, the Jharkhand state government has signed a MoU with Sampark foundation to launch Sampark Smart Shala Programme. Under the programme, sampark foundation will provide Maths and English tuitions in 26,000 primary government schools across the state.
As stated, the objective of this joint initiative is to enable students to do basic mathematical operations like addition, subtraction, etc and develop a significant vocabulary of English which would help them speak and write in English. The estimated time period for achieving this result is said to be one year.
The release quoted Jharkhand chief minister, Raghubar Das, as saying, ‘Sampark Smart Shala is a path breaking initiative, which will make our schools interactive, innovative and imaginative. I am sure our young state Jharkhand will see significant improvement in quality of primary education with such a strategic partnership.’ Vineet Nayar, the founder chairman of Sampark Foundation is also hopeful of the success of the initiative considering the tremendous success in Chattisgarh and Uttarakhand.
The entire financing will be taken care of by Sampark Foundation.
Students often are seen struggling with English communication skills, which also becomes a hurdle when they are ready to join the workforce. As for maths, a strong foundation of the basics is crucial to a successful future school education. Further, emphasis on STEM education is constantly hinted upon. In the light of such factors, the joint initiative is certainly a thoughtful and student-friendly one.
