How New-age Technologies are Transforming the Public Health Education in the UK
Digitisation of Health Education is one of the aims of the National Health Service, the public organisation for maintaining national healthcare in the United Kingdom. Therefore, the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Programme at Health England has been designed so that the public in England benefit from a health and care workforce educated using the most effective technology and techniques.
The key development in this area has been the use of artificial intelligence in communicating training objectives across an enormous and diverse workforce, and in assessing new technologies and their impact on learning.
Richard Price, Learning Technologies Advisor at the NHS Health Education department, speaks to Sophie Bailey in the first VocTech Podcast on this topic. He talks on how the team is working on videos and simulations, all the while personalising the experience for the learners.
Work has especially been done towards adapting the content in various languages via AI, to enable the understanding of both the patients and the workforce, who speak a wide variety of languages.
