UK government plans on setting up a global EdTech hub

The UK government plans on investing 20 million euros to set up a global EdTech hub. This initiative, taken by the Department for International Development at EDTech X, aims at promoting digital literacy in underdeveloped regions across the world. 

It will give an opportunity to educationists, research companies and professors from British universities to talk about the latest technological interventions that can be of immense help to schools located in underdeveloped regions. 

The EdTech hub that will run for eight years is made up of the University of Cambridge, the Overseas Development Institute, Results for Development, Brink, Jigsaw, Open Development and Education, INJINI, Afrilabs, e-Learning Africa and BRAC.

Sara Hennessy from the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge is of the opinion that the investment will bring about the much-needed improvement and usher in new educational opportunities for schools located in underdeveloped regions.
