JEE Main 2020 – Major Changes in Exam Pattern!
According to the National Testing Agency, the current organising body for national higher education entrance exams, there will be some major changes in the pattern of the JEE Main exam of 2020. While the examination was previously conducted once a year, from JEE 2020, they will be held twice a year – in January and in April – to help them get acquainted with the examination pattern and encourage more students to take the test.
Furthermore, the number of questions in each subject paper has been reduced from 30 to 25; and out of the 25 questions, 20 will be multiple-choice, and 5 will be numerical questions.
Mathematics and aptitude papers will remain common to B.Planning and B.Arch examinees. However, there will be no drawing paper for B.Planning candidates and they will have to take a paper of 25 multiple choice question on planning instead. The drawing test of 100 marks for B.Arch will have only two questions instead of three.
NTA also hopes that having a lesser number of negative responses in the paper can help candidates secure a good rank in case there is a tie, thus motivating them. Registrations for the examination will be open from 3-30 September 2019. The exam is scheduled to be held between 6-11 January 2020, while the second examination will be held between 3-9 April 2020.
