Florida State University to observe International Education Month
International Education Month will be observed by Florida State University this year during the third week of November. A joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, this month-long celebration aims at promoting programmes that will celebrate the benefits of global education and foster cross-cultural exchange. It will also educate students about the global opportunities offered across various campuses.
According to the Provost and Executive Vice President of the university, Sally McRorie, Florida is considered the leader in the field of international education and research. To acknowledge its academic contributions and global connections, and expand its international outreach, the students and faculty will organise various activities and events.
The university has received two national awards in appreciation of its campus internationalisation work – the Platinum Level Institutional Award for Global Learning, Research & Engagement, awarded by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) in 2018, and the Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization, awarded in 2017.
