NCERT is going to update its textbooks
National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has decided to update all of its 182 textbooks. It will include Goods and Services Tax (GST) and other new developments to bring the content up to date. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and demonetisation will also be included, among other new topics.
The NCERT is going to make 1334 changes, in all, to the books. It is going to take nearly a month to prepare the texts and will send them for printing after that.
Additions, corrections and updates will be part of the additions.
Students will have the new books in the new academic year, which will begin in April 2018. NCERT hopes to deliver them by March 2018.
NCERT already has orders for more than 2 crore books through its website, for next year.
