CBSE helps 135 girls crack JEE Mains through ‘Udaan’ initiative
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has helped 135 girls clear the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains through its Udaan initiative. The scheme aims to help more girls clear engineering entrance exams.
Under the scheme, the government assists girls who score 80% in science and maths and 70% overall. Their annual family income has to be less than Rs. 6 lakh.
The girls get free study material, lectures, mentoring and tutorials. They also benefit from helpline services to solve queries. They can also take virtual contact classes in 60 cities across the country.
Last year, 143 girls from the Udaan scheme had cleared the JEE Mains.
