Should good teaching be entertaining, too?
We all speak about good teaching and teaching by engaging the student. How do we engage the student? Should good teaching be entertaining? Does being entertaining mean that it would lack in substance? Does effective teaching mean both hands glued to a podium or eyes fixated on a slide projector?
How can good teachers engage every student in the room? How can they make the entire class work like an orchestra, with all students playing different instruments with varying proficiencies, but in harmony?
