Five-member panel to prepare Deshbhakti curriculum
Education minister Manish Sisodia has announced that a five-member panel will be working on the ‘Deshbhakti curriculum’ which will be introduced in government schools in Delhi from next academic year. The members include SCERT officials, education researchers and teachers.
Sisodia reckons that the agenda should be to emphasize the need for children to learn nationalism by doing their bit for the country in their daily life. This curriculum is aimed to teach the children that loving your country is more than shouting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” It will try to focus on teaching the children that acts such as jumping the red light and paying bribes are all instances of cheating their country.
Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal had announced that the Deshbhakthi curriculum will be launched in government schools from next year to create a class of ‘patriotic citizens.’ last month.
