Chicago to organise EDUCAUSE conference

The annual Educause conference will be held from October 14-17 in Chicago, USA. Educause is a US-based nonprofit association advancing higher education through the use of IT. The main focus of this year’s conference will be on the application of data in all its forms in higher education. In a technology-driven world, the issue of data security is of paramount importance to educational institutions, and educators all over the world have realised the possibility of data security breaches that may occur in a school.

Keeping this in mind, the organisers have chosen a list of topics that will focus on the collection, management and protection of data in the efficient running of a school. The two keynote speakers for this conference will be Steven Johnson, a renowned author and host of  ‘How We Got to Now’, and Reshma Saujani, the founder and CEO of ‘Girls Who Code’.

All participants at the conference will get an opportunity to speak on topics ranging from digital transformation, security and privacy to new tools and tactics to support modern pedagogy. Moreover, they will be exposed to a wide variety of topics, discussed in more than 300 sessions by more than 800 presenters. Sessions at the conference include ‘The 2019 ECAR Student and Faculty Technology Surveys’ and ‘Special Topics in the 2019 Higher Ed IT Workforce’.The 2020 Top IT Issues list will also be unveiled at the conference, along with research publications.
