The Divine Light Trust, a philanthropic organisation based in\u00a0Mussoorie, has introduced an initiative for digital education called\u00a0\u2018Chetna\u2019. Under this, \u00a0the students will learn basics of spoken English and science through visual effects, sound, animation and graphics.<\/p>\n

How it will help<\/h2>\n

The programme involves using ‘smart class’ software to teach children in 41 government schools in the state of Uttarakhand. The schools are spread across five districts.<\/p>\n

The scheme will compensate for lack of teachers or teachers who are absent from school. As a result, all students of classes 1 to 10 are likely to benefit from it.<\/p>\n

As a part of the scheme, schools will have computers, projectors and screens to run the licenced teaching content.<\/p>\n

The trust hopes that the programme will keep students interested in learning, so that they will want to come to school.<\/p>\n
