Students of schools affiliated to Odisha’s state education board may soon be able to get their certificates and mark-sheets online, if everything goes according to plan. To make records related to the matriculation examination easily accessible, the board aims to digitise the database of its students.<\/p>\n

The board has already sought funds from the state government and hopes to start the project this year. It has submitted\u00a0a technical report,\u00a0along with a detailed proposal.<\/p>\n

Nearly 6,00,000 students take the matriculation examination conducted by the board every year.<\/p>\n

At present, the issue of a duplicated certificate or mark-sheet takes about a month, but the duration can be reduced to a few hours after digitisation. The project should also help to preserve\u00a0records that are several decades old (the board started functioning in 1955) and save space taken up by the records in store rooms.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
