The sheer size of India\u2019s educational system presents a huge opportunity for information technology (IT). Schools are now looking at IT as a means to improve the quality of education in general and the quality of teaching in the institutions in particular. Education has changed from blackboard teaching to technology-enhanced pictorial teaching. Education is progressing toward interactive methods of teaching. Thus, eLearning has become a buzzword in today\u2019s global world.<\/p>\n<p>Schools are also taking to IT tools to connect with parents, students and teachers.<br \/>\nTeachers and students are using such tools as a communication tool to extend classroom discussions, to post assignments, tests and quizzes, and to assist with homework outside of the classroom setting.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report, India\u2019s education sector is expected to step up its IT spending to $ 704 million in 2012. According to one estimate, India\u2019s market for primary, secondary and tertiary education will be worth over $ 50 billion by 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The demand for IT products and services in education is growing. Many schools have invested in or plan to invest in eLearning courses, virtual classrooms and similar applications. WLAN and ERP are among the most popular IT solutions adopted by schools in India.
