Students can develop their communication by:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp; Making an effort to listen closely to what someone is saying, and asking for clarification in case they are not sure of what the other person is trying to say. They can practice this with parents, teachers or friends in case they are uncomfortable practicing in public.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp; Practicing using different types of body language to understand what hidden messages postures and expressions can convey.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp; Reading, writing and active storytelling. Teachers and parents can encourage students to form informal groups and practice speaking about things that interest them.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Building_self-confidence\"><\/span><strong>Building self-confidence<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/localhost\/nextworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Developing-skills-for-effective-learning.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8266 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost\/nextworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Developing-skills-for-effective-learning.jpg\" alt=\"Developing skills for effective learning\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\"><\/a>Self-confidence is the belief in one\u2019s ability to overcome challenges, and becomes especially important to a student during social and peer interactions. Here are a few ways in which a student can develop better self-confidence:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp; Trying out new experiences \u2013 up to a limit \u2013 will help a student overcome fear of the unknown and increase his or her confidence in their ability to deal with unexpected obstacles.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp; Parents and teachers can help students face their fears, support them if they fail at a task, and encourage them to try again.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp;&nbsp; Students can become socially more self-confident by interacting with other people outside their immediate environment, and taking on household responsibilities \u2013 such as shopping \u2013 that involve social interaction.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%80%93_Giving_students_important_tasks_and_responsibilities_at_home_will_also_boost_their_self-confidence_as_they_successfully_carry_them_out\"><\/span>&#8211;&nbsp; Giving students important tasks and responsibilities at home will also boost their self-confidence as they successfully carry them out.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Being_part_of_a_team\"><\/span><strong>Being part of a team<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Being able to work well in a team is an important skill that students will need both in <a href=\"http:\/\/localhost\/nextworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Strategies-to-solve-the-paper-\u2013-III-How-to-manage-your-time.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8251 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/localhost\/nextworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Strategies-to-solve-the-paper-\u2013-III-How-to-manage-your-time.jpg\" alt=\"Developing skills for effective learning\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"><\/a>school as well as later in life. Many things can be accomplished as a team that cannot be achieved as an individual.
