\"\"<\/a>Beginning June 2012, the University Grants Commission will conduct the National Eligibility Text (NET) in objective mode only. There will be no descriptive questions. The test will consist of three papers, all of which will consist of only objective type questions and will be held on the day of examination in two separate sessions.<\/p>\n

There will be two papers in the first session; the first paper of 75 minutes will have 60 questions, out of which candidates will have to solve 50; the second paper of 75 minutes will have 50 questions, all of which will be compulsory. The second session will have only one paper; it will be of 150 minutes and will have 75 questions, all of which will be compulsory. The first paper will be from 9.30 am to 10.45 am, the second from 10.45 am to 12.00 noon, and the third from 1.30 pm to 4.00 pm.<\/p>\n

Candidates will have to obtain a certain minimum percentage of marks (depending on category) in each paper, separately, to be considered for the final result. The syllabus for the three papers will remain the same. The candidates will be allowed to carry the carbon printout of OMR Response Sheets with them on conclusion of the examination.
