Bengaluru\u2019s Pranjal Srivastava has received a gold medal in the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO). He is also the youngest Indian ever to bag gold in one of the toughest competitions across the globe. Pranjal has been participating in math competitions since class 3 and finds the subject a \u2018fun activity\u2019.

In the year 2018, Pranjal bagged the silver medal in IMO. Pranjal believes his determination to understand the subject over \u201cmugging\u2019\u2019 has helped him to achieve his goal. The child mathematician also believes that a change in approach can help Indian students to get over their phobia of maths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have been lucky in finding the right mentors, who helped me understand the subject. I have read a lot of recreational math books which helped me solve puzzles with mathematics solutions, thus elevating my interest in the subject,\u201d said Pranjal, the child prodigy<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The young achiever wants to pursue mathematics or theoretical computer science in future. He dreams to study in the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) or MIT. Apart from mathematics, he loves music and can play instruments like piano and drums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
