Under the initiative of \u2018Giving Every Dream a Chance\u2019 organised by The Akshaya Patra Foundation, a two-year free course in robotics is being provided in Yediyur Government Primary School in Jayanagar, Bengaluru. The course is divided into two stages and free kits and equipment are provided to the students on the basis of their stage. The robotics training is being provided to five schools by the Just Robotics Academy.

By introducing robotics in schools as part of the educational curriculum, students\u2019 interest in the field can be nurtured at an early stage. It also encourages the development of higher-order thinking (HOT) capability and problem-solving skills, paving way for a bright future. The present job market that is dominated by STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) highly demands candidates with qualifications in robotics.

“In some sense of the word, I am trying, enabling (and making) STEM education a whole lot of fun to school kids and thus ensuring that they don’t fear textbooks, exams, ever. And this has been my objective from the word go, and I am happy to submit, I have succeeded so far,” said Brijesh C A, Educationist and Co-Founder, Just Robotics.

The government has also taken initiatives to promote robotics in India and to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds through the Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs) that have been set up in schools across the nation. Under this initiative, young children get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand the concepts of STEM. Apart from this, ATL contains educational and learning ‘do it yourself’ kits and equipments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
